European School Tour 2008.
During the Easter holidays a group of 5th year students travelled to Berlin and Germany with 6 of their teachers: Ms Flanagan, Ms Mc Donald, Ms Sweeney, Ms Corbett, Mr Ross and Mr Mc Caul.
The trip began with a guided tour of Berlin which provided knowledge of war time Germany. This was followed by a visit to a concentration camp in Berlin where students gained an insight into life in Nazi Germany and life behind the walls of a concentration camp.
A guided tour of Paris took in the many wonderful sights which many students did not have opportunity to see before. The Eiffel tower, Le Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Champs Elysee were among such wonderful sights and their beauty was also captured during a cruise on the river Seine at night time. A Full day in Disneyland Paris exhausted students and teachers alike as the day was spent walking the streets of the enchanted village, eating in the many restaurants, shopping in the numerous shops and enjoying the many scary rides.
Evening activities such as bowling and walking tours of the cities resulted in many exhausted students and teachers longing to reach the comfort of their hotel bed.
While there was plenty of travelling, late nights and early mornings all students came home from the trip with many wonderful memories and experiences which they will carry with them for many years to come.
