Transition Year Radio
Five budding entrepreneurs in Transition Year have set up a radio station in the school. As part of an enterprise project, we are broadcasting in the school and streaming live to the Internet at lunchtime, three days a week.
The idea came about when we were told we had to do an enterprise project. After a few brainstorming sessions, the idea of the radio station was born. With the full support of our teacher, Ms Marren, the radio station started taking shape. Now after weeks of preparation, planning and a lot of hard work, the radio station is ready to go live.
We have put a lot of work into it, trying to sell advertising and sponsorship. Cootehill Credit Union has kindly sponsored us and has been a great help in setting up the station. A percentage of our profits are also going to Childline.
We are streaming live to the internet, the link of which can be found here on the website. Podcasts of the show will also be available to download very soon.
