FIRST YEAR HISTORY PROJECTS – MISS BRADY

“I choose to make the riffle as part of my history project because I have a great interest in the history of the 1916 Rising and Miss Brady encouraged us to make something for this particular era as it the centenary year. I used the back of an old shotgun and some wood the make the handle of the gun and an old leg of a broken trampoline to make the barrel of the gun.”

I choose to complete my History Project on the Celt because I find it an interesting part of History. It was difficult to carve the ogham writing into the stone so I had to ask my Dad for help. The writing on the stones says “Celts” in the Ogham alphabet”

“I choose to make a sword and shield as I have a great love for Roman History and the Gladiator section is very interesting as it is gruesome. I loved making this project as it was fun working with and getting help from my Dad and Grandad. We made most of it out of wood and varnished and painted it before I brought it into school.”

“I created a Map of 1916 Dublin. I love this section in Irish History, it is definitely my favourite as it is the period that is most influential on this country today”

“I got my Dad to help me with my project. I first stuck on dried peas to an old sewage pipe and them painted it and decorated it to look like the Round Tower the Early Christian Monks used for storing valuable goods such as chalices and manuscripts.”

“I completed my project on Anne Frank because I enjoy carrying out research and learning new fact myself. I presented my information in a folder which describes in details Anne Frank’s life and what life was like for a Jew during World War II.”
