End of year reports
First Year Report
On the first of May fifty first year students enjoyed three days in the Gaeltacht in Rath – cairn. Well done to Rosalynd Lavery and Diarmaid Carney for winning the Irish speakers of the course. Many thanks to Ms. Scanlon and Mr Farrell for organising this trip.
On behalf of the first years I would like to thank the 5th year students who were involved in the big brother big sister programme this year. The first years found the older students to be very friendly, supportive and helpful and made the transition from primary to secondary school a little easier. Huge thanks to Ms. Mc Guinness for facilitating these weekly meetings.
Well done to all students who took part in extra- curricular activities this term. Congratulations to the first years who performed very well in the Athletic Competition in Shercock recently. Well done to Conor Deery on his many achievements in Taekwondo during the year. We wish him continued success.
First years have just completed a 5 week Face Off course. This involved building self-esteem and confidence and the students really enjoyed this. To end the course the First years spent a lovely day at the Zone in Navan. We had our very own Michael and Ralph Schumacher on the race track and later in the afternoon the students showed no pity towards their friends when they got hold of the paint ball guns.
Wish to sincerely thank the first year tutors Ms Ni Bhaoill, Ms. Hetherton and Mr Farrell, and also our pastoral team Mr Mc Quilllan and Ms. Drury for all their help, support and dedication shown throughout the year.
