TY Trip to Tanagh
On Monday 3rd September the Transition year group in St. Aidan’s Comprehensive School Cootehill went on a school trip to Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre. The purpose of this trip was to improve our team building skills and to get to know people that are not in our usual friend groups.
The Transition Years took part in various activities which included the brown bog team tasks. This entailed a series 10 minute team building challenges. We were split into groups at random and at each obstacle we had to communicate with each other, work on our time planning and include each member of our team.
Afterwards we went canoeing in Halton’s River. Once we made it down the river in merry song, we all jumped ship and got the chance to dive off the jetty which was great fun for all.
Finally we went back to the centre and slid down the mudslide which is basically a slope covered in water and soap. If you slide down fast enough you’ll find yourself landed in mud which is hilarious to take part in and to watch for our lucky teachers!
Overall, as Transition Year students, this trip gave us a great taste of what is to come in our school year, as well as being lots of fun!
